Projections Mixed At U.S. Banks For Third-Quarter FX Earnings

Ahead of the release of third-quarter bank earnings reports in the U.S., a consensus is emerging that it was a difficult period, making foreign exchange trading results difficult to predict, say market sources. An informal survey of banks and foreign exchange analysts finds that some shops did well, some didn't, while still others broke even.

After the outrageous gains that most U.S. banks posted during the third quarter last year, none expect comparable gains this year (FX Week, October 26)
