New expirations are to be created on two existing currency options contracts at the Marché à Terme Internationale de France (Matif), officials say. They are the dollar/mark and the dollar/Paris contracts introduced in May last year (FXW, June 13). The new expirations, which will be added from June 9, are being introduced in response to "market demand," according to a Matif spokesperson, who says the resulting shorter expiration periods will offer greater flexibility for implementing options
