Two French Banks Report Lower Results In Latest Earnings Reports

The first of the French banks to release earnings for 1995 are reporting disappointing results. French banks do not break out forex trading revenues, but Groupe Paribas reports a Ffr2,549 million loss in total consolidated net income for the year, while Banque Indosuez reports a 24 per cent decline in gross operating income, but an improvement in net income (which was up from a loss in 1994).
