Philippines Adopts Reuters D2000-1; Decision Is Blow To Telerate's PDS

DEALING & NETTING

The Bankers Association of the Philippines (BAP) and the Philippines Central Bank, have contracted with Reuters to supply a foreign exchange trading system to replace its existing Telerate-supplied Philippines Dealing System. The new PDS will be based on Reuters' Dealing 2000-1 conversational dealing service, and will go live April 2.

The BAP and the central bank will not be mandating the use of D2000-1 to its approximately 60 member banks, and Telerate officials say that the vendor will continue
