Prebon Yamane Posts Record Year, Whilst Exco Reports A Downturn

LONDON--Money brokers Prebon Yamane and Exco have released year-end 1997 results, showing a continuation of the mixed returns reported so far (FXW, March 2 & March 23). Prebon's group consolidated operating profits were up 26 per cent to $26.56 million for the financial year-ended September 30, 1997, versus $21.03 million the previous year; however, Exco showed an operating loss of £2.62 million ($4.33 million) for the year-ended December 31, 1997, versus a restated consolidated operating profit
