Mixed FX Results For US Banks InQ1 But Citi Stays At Top Slot

NEW YORK--Some of the US highrollers in the foreign exchange markets released their pretax trading results for the first quarter last week.

The results show, once again, how varied rankings and earnings can be.

Overall, Citibank confirmed its status as the top FX player in spite of an earnings slide, but mid-tier players showed good gains as US banks report their Q1 FX results.

"The markets been very quiet since Y2K, with a lot less hedge fund-related activity," says one US analyst.
