CSFB Revised Forecast Predicts Euro/Dollar Parity By April 2001

LONDON -- Credit Suisse First Boston has revised its currency forecasts in the wake of the euro's rise over the last month. In December, CSFB forecast that the euro would gradually rise during 2001 to reach dollar parity by year-end. But at a recent presentation -- CSFB's Outlook 2001, held on January 10 -- head of global FX research and strategy Joe Prendergast released figures forecasting euro/dollar parity by April -- and possibly as early as March.
