Tradenext hires head of trading

London-based online broker Tradenext has hired Jason Gibson as head of trading, replacing Marc Pussard, who is due to join ADS Securities.

In his new role, Gibson oversees the day-to-day execution of Tradenext's dealing and risk management operations strategy, officials at the broker say. He also serves as a member of the firm's executive management team, reporting to Mohsin Jameel, Tradenext's chief executive locally, and has direct responsibility for the firm's trading operations.

Gibson joins from rival broker GKFX, where he was a director, also in London. Previously he has worked as a senior manager in spread betting and retail contracts-for-difference at ODL, senior trader at City Index, Kaupthing Singer & Friedlander, and Royal Bank of Scotland.

At Tradenext, Gibson also manages the institutional product range under the Tradenext Prime brand. This includes application programming interface, liquidity, and prime-of-prime services for financial brokerages, hedge funds and professional trading firms.
