Caplin Systems has launched a trading application for mobile phones and tablets as it anticipates this technology to gather steam in the coming years, allowing smaller regional banks to dip into the space besides the leading global players.

Mobile trading applications are already available at Citi and JP Morgan, among others, but security fears have so far constricted the appetite of smaller players to invest in the offering, which enables clients to manage and monitor their orders on the move.
