If the foreign exchange industry is to achieve a more even distribution between men and women both in senior and more junior positions, explicit strategies are needed to target female graduate recruitment and retention, according to industry officials.

Martine Bond, chief operating officer for foreign exchange and emerging markets at Morgan Stanley in London, believes the retention of women is ultimately a matter of getting the best available talent and should be considered of equal importance
