Asian currencies have been among the best FX performers in 2010. The Thai baht, Malaysian ringgit and Singapore dollar have been the major outperformers while the won and Indian rupee, the top picks for many analysts at the beginning of the year, have underperformed but have still registered gains against the US dollar. It doesn’t take much analysis to gather that the strengthening of Asian currencies derives from the fact the region looks particularly attractive compared with downbeat growth
