CME posts record June FX volumes

CME announced on July 2 that foreign exchange volumes for June averaged 981,000 contracts per day, up 40% compared with June 2009, reflecting daily notional value of $118 billion.

Second-quarter FX volumes averaged a record 1 million contracts per day, up 82% compared with the same period a year ago, reflecting average daily notional value of $124 billion.

However, monthly eurodollar futures volumes fell 28% versus June 2009, averaging 1.7 million contracts per day. Monthly eurodollar options
