Fraudsters fined $19m for currency options scam

The three companies, Harrington Advisory Services, Richmond Royce Advisory Services and Stratford Advisory Services, were found guilty of defrauding customers and misappropriating funds. The complaint was brought by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and tried in a South Florida district court.

The CFTC gathered evidence that found the companies cheated investors into putting money into non-existent options trading schemes. The court found: "The money trail associated with [the enterprise]
