Five European banks link up to launch regional FX portal

LONDON -- The slew of new multi-bank FX portals will soon face competition from a regional player which announced its launch last week.

Centradia, a consortium of five European banks, unveiled its plans for a multi-product FX and treasury portal, with a planned launch in September 2001. The group has backing from Banco Santander Central Hispano (BSCH), Commerzbank, the Royal Bank of Scotland, Sanpaolo IMI and SG.
