CME chief says central clearing house removes 'black swan' threat

CME's CCP will eliminate the likelyhood of a future ‘black swan event', a disproportionately rare and high-impact event that is hard to predict and is beyond the realm of normal expectations, said George Ng, director and head of energy and metals for Asia at CME, speaking at sister publication Energy Risk's Asia conference in Singapore.

"Not all exchange-cleared platforms or clearing houses can do this, but we can erase possibilities of a black swan event," Ng said. "We require a minimum margin
