The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) reports that volume on Project A, its electronic trading system, was 739,535 contracts traded during August, a decrease of 23 per cent on July's volume of 957,084 contracts traded. Trading on Project A was suspended twice in August: once due to a problem with its network provider, and once due to a threatened power outage, during which the Chicago Mercantile Exchange also experienced problems.
