FX Contracts Dominate Trading BIS Derivatives Report Shows

The Bank for International Settlements' final report of its first survey of derivatives markets, conducted along with the triennial FX survey last year, shows a worldwide market of $47.5 trillion in notional outstanding contracts in April 1995, with gross market values at about $2.2 trillion outstanding.
