DG Bank Targets European Plans For Expansion

FRANKFURT--Frankfurt-based DG Bank, the central bank for the cooperative sector in Germany, is looking to build a network of strategic alliance and acquisition partners in key regional centres of Western and Central Europe in anticipation of Economic and Monetary Union (EMU) in Europe next year.

The bank aims to become the market maker for the cooperative banking sector, spanning the European time zone.

The interbank network will comprise regional cooperative banks and the principal mid-tier
