BarCap debuted in the awards in 2004 in fifth position, and rose to fourth place last year.
Tim Cartledge, managing director for foreign exchange, said BarCap's e-trading capabilities have been building over the past few years as new products have been launched.
Cartledge said BarCap has always tried to be innovative with its products. "We've developed all our e-trading capabilities in-house, which is why we have so much control over functionality," he said, adding that BarCap's in-house
