HSBC holds EMEA top spot

Andrew Brown, global head of FX at HSBC in London said the bank was well positioned to benefit from the recent spike in volatility, with local sales and trading desks in 65 markets globally.

Brown also said its strong presence at grass-roots level helped HSBC gain access to greater liquidity information and clients, which a number of its competitors cannot do. "If you are a Brazilian corporate that wants to transact in Brazil, then speaking to a local sales counterparty is a great advantage,"
